Trier It firmly sits in the travel or compact buggy category but is also suitable for everyday use – which some of the super lightweight alternatives aren’t. Tested by Journalist Katy Moon is mum to Hector 2 years old and Margot 10 weeks old. She tested the product at home in South East London, in parks, shops and on pavements. She also tested the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 while visiting family in Somerset, in shops, on farms and in play parks. What were your first impressions? Wow. You can tell that the Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 is a well-made buggy – the packaging is compact and the product feels and looks sleek. I really love the striking river blue colour and the feel of the fabric. It makes me feel excited to be trying this buggy out. How easy is the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 to build? My partner put the buggy together. He says it was so easy he can barely remember assembling it! I remember it taking him about 10-15 minutes, including reading the instructions. No tools are required, the wheels and other parts simple click into place. How does the Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 compare to its predecessor – what main upgrades does this new model have? Perhaps the most practical upgrade to the Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 is the change to bigger all terrain’ wheels, making this stroller not just a slick city zip around, but a smooth mover in somewhat more challenging countryside terrains. I tried it out in the suburbs and in the countryside and it performed well on pavements, grass, farmyard, wooden decking and hilly landscapes. The 4-wheel suspension makes for a smooth ride even on the roughest terrains. There are other welcome upgrades to the previous stroller including integrated calf support and a larger seat, especially handy for older children with longer legs. Our MFM reviewer found the previous Eezy S Twist had a “snug fit” so this is a welcome improvement. There is also a slick ergonomic bumper bar, which offers added comfort and safety. The bumper bar is very easy to lift up and looks stylish. However, there’s a slight trade off with these new design additions, as it makes the buggy heavier at compared to the older model, which weighed A feature I found pleasing is the extra storage with a zip pouch to put essential items such as key, phone and knick knacks – it’s large enough to fit a couple of nappies and small pack of wipes. Given that it’s not advisable to attach a change bag to the handles for safety reasons, this is a welcome feature. The fabric on this new buggy has also been upgraded to be harder wearing – and it certainly has a luxurious feel. The new design also offers 6 beautiful new shades including river blue my favourite, navy blue, magnolia pink, classic beige, soho grey and deep black. It took some time making a colour choice! All in all, the upgrades have addressed many of the niggles with the previous model that our MFM reviewer mentioned in her previous assessment. What age is the Eezy S Twist+2 suitable for? You can use the Eezy S Twist+2 from birth with an additional carrycot, and it will accommodate children up to 17kg, approximately 4 years. So it’s a great age range for a compact buggy. How does the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2’s 360-degree swivel action work? Is it worth it? It is very easy to swivel the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2’s seat – you simply unlock the safety button which enables you to turn the seat on the chassis. This function is very handy for parents who like to keep an eye on their kids, and is useful for younger babies who may need more attention. It’s worth noting that the swivel seat can only be used for children weighing up to 15kg. However, in my experience, most of the toddlers I know tend to enjoy facing outwards – so I am not sure how much the swivel seat would be used. My 2-year-old certainly prefers facing outwards and likes a viewing window to look up at me. One of the cons of this stroller is that there is no viewing window, perhaps this was omitted due to the 360-degree swivel design. How easy is it to swap between toddler seat and carry cot? I have to admit it took me a few attempts to master taking the swivel chair off the pushchair frame to put the carry cot on. If you set aside 10 minutes to play with this function, it becomes second nature. It does initially require focus, though! What do you think of the carry cot? I love the Cot S ÂŁ on Amazon. It’s a thing of beauty, it’s great quality, roomy L77 x W32 x H60cm and the fabric feels plush, and appears to be robust. The Cot S can be used from birth to 6 months 9kg and weighs Trying this buggy out in late summer, I was pleased by the design features to keep baby cool and protected. There’s a ventilated window at the back of the carry cot, which keeps it cooler in warmer weather. It also has an extendable XXL sun canopy with UVP50+ protection to keep baby protected from the sun. For colder weather there’s a foot cover, which comes up high to provide extra protection from the wind. It’s easy to attach but is on the bulky side, so if you need to detach this it would take up a lot of room in the shopping basket. The rain cover for the Cot S is great quality, it’s simple to get on in a hurry and the window opening makes it easy to see baby and gain some added air circulation. Another great thing about this carry cot is that the mattress is made of memory foam. It looks so much more comfortable than the thin mattress on the other buggy I use – the Mountain Buggy Duet. I carried out the MadeForMums DIY breathability test for the mattress. I did this by holding it up to my mouth and breathing through it a few times. I then compared this to breathing through a cushion. I can report the mattress was easier to breathe through compared with the cushion. My 10-week-old, Margot, seems very happy in the Cot S and likes to nap in it when we’re out and about. As a taller baby, there’s room for her to grow. But I am not convinced it will last her until 6 months at the rate she’s growing – time will tell! How simple is it to attach and detach the carry cot? The adapters for the Cot S are fairly simple to attach with a R’ and L’ on each to distinguish right and left attachments. However, they aren’t as intuitive as I’d expect from this brand as they clip into place rather than slot into place. But they do feel very sturdy. The thing I struggled with was slotting the carry cot into the adapters, although this has become easier with usage. My partner also found this tricky at first. In terms of taking the Cot S out of the buggy frame, it has memory buttons on each side so you can click one side out without having to clip the other side out. This does make life easier, but it still took me a couple of goes to get used to the knack of this. I wouldn’t attempt to take the carry cot off the buggy while my baby was sleeping as I’d worry the movement could wake her up – and I also wouldn’t feel safe going so. Also, it’s worth noting the manufacturer does not recommend this carry cot for overnight sleeping for safety reasons. What do you think of the seat unit? My 2-year-old was very excited when we unboxed this buggy and loves sitting in it. It’s slimline but with enough room for growth, and the footrest is in a good position so that his feet aren’t dangling. I’d expect the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 to last Hector until he’s ready to move on from a buggy – perhaps in 12-18 months’ time. The safety harness on the buggy clips in with ease to fasten the child into the seat. This feels safe and my toddler hasn’t attempted to undo it or remove the straps – which he usually does! It’s worth mentioning that the rain cover for the seat is beautiful quality and easy to attach. It has a window that can be opened to give easy access to your child and allows added ventilation. While the seat can be reclined flat and is said to be suitable for a newborn, we recommend the sturdy carrycot for newborns. How easy is the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 to fold? As promised by Cybex, the Eezy Twist +2 can be easily folded and put back up with one hand. However, it takes a couple of extra steps to put the seat up and down. The one hand fold makes it particularly handy for travelling, where you had to collapse it at short notice. The motion is very smooth and the pushchair is compact when folded. You can fold the buggy with the 360 twist seat either facing to the front or rear. We don’t have a car but we tested the fit of the folded pushchair in my mother-in-law’s car boot Citron C3 Picasso. It fitted nicely with room for other things – at least half the boot. The Eezy Twist+2 is so compact when folded, I can’t see there being a problem with most car boots. Users love the ease of use of the Eezy S Twist+2 – especially the fold. John Lewis shoppers, for example, have unanimously given this model 5 stars out of 5. How good is it to push and steer? The previous Eezy Twist model already performed really well, according to the previous MFM review, but the Eezy S Twist+2 is fantastic. On smooth pavements it handles like a dream, and on cracked ones it doesn’t get stuck. I strolled around the park with my baby in the pushchair and she remained asleep when I was pushing her on the grass and bumpy surfaces. The Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 can easily mount kerbs and it was always easy to manoeuvre. It does not make any noises when pushed and because it’s so light you can easily zip around. I also found it easy to use in small shops with not much aisle space. The buggy is lighter to handle with my baby in it compared to my toddler – even though the carry cot adds some extra weight, but there was no noticeable difference between its performance. My mum and dad used the buggy when we visited them – they also found it easy to handle and thought it was excellent quality, so it passed the grandparent test! How did you find using Cybex Eezy S Twist +2 on public transport? Due to the pandemic, I have not been using public transport, but this would be my usual mode of getting around. While I haven’t tested the buggy on public transport, the Eezy S Twist +2 is so slim that it would be perfect for trips on the bus, tube or train as it wouldn’t take up much space and is easy to fold. I would be happy carrying the buggy in one hand when going up steps to get to platforms, providing my baby was in a sling. I’ve tested this out by carrying the buggy up my stairs at home. Being so compact when folded 68cm, width height the Eezy S Twist +2 should also be suitable for cabin luggage, but you always need to double check with the airline. It’s certainly smaller than my Joie Pact buggy, which I’ve previously taken as cabin luggage. How sturdy is the chassis? I am impressed by the engineering of this buggy. The chassis is made of aluminium and appears to be strong and well designed. Cosmetically, one drawback is that it easily scratches. This was an issue with the previous design and has clearly not been addressed, which is a shame. The matt black finish of the frame looked great to begin with but in two weeks has already shown wear with numerous white scratches. How do you rate the buggy handle? My posture has improved while using this buggy as the handle is at a great height for me. I’m 5ft 6, but for shorter parents the handle maybe too high at 105cm. Unfortunately, the handle is not adjustable. It’s made of EVA foam and has ridges, making it easy to grip and comfortable. It feels as though it should be hard wearing. Does the hood give good coverage? The hood is extendable and gives good coverage from the sun. When extended it covers the top half of my toddler’s body. I asked him how he felt about the hood being down, as it looked like he was quite enclosed, but he said, I like it, Mummy!’. The first few times, the hood was stiff to pull down, and it does make a clicking noise. It does stay firmly in place. My toddler usually fiddles with buggy hoods – pushing them up and down – but he hasn’t been tempted with this one! How do the wheels perform on the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2? The Eezy S Twist+2’s wheels are made of rubber, are nice and sturdy and larger than most compact strollers’. The suspension is impressive and offers a smooth ride. It’s easy to mount pavements and navigate rough ground or broken pavement. Pushing the Cybex Eezy S Twist+2 never feels like hard work. It feels light even with my toddler in it. How easy are the brakes to use? There is a single central brake, which is easy to flip up and down with one foot and is very intuitive to use. It’s also sturdy and feels safe and reliable. The central brake is a unique design feature and I found it very useful as it’s easy to access quickly and it doesn’t get stuck, like on some pushchairs I’ve used before. Given that this is a compact stroller, what do you think of the basket on the Eezy S Twist+2? The basket is small, yet deep – and you can fit a surprising amount of items in for a compact stroller. There’s enough room for a small nappy change bag, a picnic blanket and some toys. I was also able to do a run to the shops and fit in a loaf of bread, soup, a couple of tins of beans and some breakfast bars. It’s easy to access the basket from the front, back and sides. The brand warns not to exceed a 5kg load with the shopping basket or the buggy could tip up. The relatively small size of the basket is definitely worth thinking about if you are considering using this stroller as your every-day runaround. Is the Eezy S Twist+2 car seat compatible? Yes. The Eezy S Twist +2 is compatible with a good range of car seats from Cybex and GB, which makes it even more flexible in its use. But you need to buy the adaptors separately. What’s in the box? It’s important to highlight that the Eezy S Twist+2 is not as light as the previous design. Weighing it is quite a bit heavier than its predecessor at This could be a deal breaker for those looking for a super lightweight buggy. It also makes it heavier than some of its bestselling competitors, such as the Babyzen Yoyo – but then again those don’t offer features such as the parent-facing option. I was also disappointed that the brand advises not to attach any bags to the handles of the buggy. I realise quite a few brands state this precaution, but it means you have to go for a rucksack changing bag with this buggy – or place a very small change bag that fits in the basket. Is this pushchair worth the money? The Cybex Eery S Twist +2 is a good buy because I can see it lasting from newborn purchased with the Cot S to the end of toddlerhood. My newborn and 2-year-old are both very happy in it, and there’s still growing room for my toddler. A lot of parents I know find themselves buying an extra travel buggy because their usual one is too heavy/bulky – but this buggy is good for day-to-day use and travel, so there would be no need to double up. My main niggles over the ÂŁ price tag is that the frame is easily scratched and you can’t fix a shopping bag to the handle bar. I feel these issues could be addressed. For the price, I’d also expect a travel bag to be included as it’s marketed as a travel buggy. MadeForMums verdict A super stylish, lightweight, compact buggy, perfect for home and travel, which handles like a dream. Compact when folded, it’s perfect for people with smaller car boots or limited space in the home. It’s also easy to carry up and down steps for those who live in flats or have steps to navigate on a regular basis.
